Modern Easter Baby Basket

Growing up Easter morning was all about waking up full of excitement and running through our house to find our Easter baskets. Traditionally, they are filled with candies, plastic eggs filled with treats, and toys that we could play with when it got warm enough to be outside. Now that I am a mom, I am getting filled with excitement for the day that our daughter will run around the house searching for her own Easter basket. I also have realized that most of the traditional Easter candies and treats are filled with toxic dyes, chemicals, and additives that are actually harmful for our children.

All the way back to 2011, the FDA released a report that there was a possible link between artificial food dyes and children's behavioral disorders. Then again, the FDA revisited the study in 2019 and found the same link, yet companies are still using these ingredients in our foods today. There are some companies out there that are beginning the change, so if you still want to get some treats for your kids, do not be discouraged, there are healthier options available. I love the idea of giving our daughter a modern Easter basket, with a twist. We will include some soft toys, books, wooden teethers, shoes, an Easter wand and more. Still making it super fun and exciting for her but removing the toxic treats!
